I'm done guessing why I have gained five pounds steadily over the course of the year. Whether it is from the Depo Lupron shots, stress, or not eating enough/too much of something I am finished making excuses. I have always been an avid exerciser since I can remember. When I started my master's program a year and a half ago I was on the computer from 4-9 every night and usually five to six hours Saturday or Sunday. This literally left no time for working out. At first I had a little bit of a freak session because I became addicted to working out six and seven days a week. Finally, I came to the realization that I was only going to be able to fit in exercise once a week. Teaching and going back to school were consuming me and there was little time for even my husband or dogs. Luckily I continued to maintain my weight during this time because otherwise I think I really would have been stressed! For the past year and a half it has become habit to just work out once a week. Now it is evident that my body is used to my diet and in order to rev up my metabolism I have got to try something else. I gained from this Saturday so I am now at 119.2 lbs. Tonight I did a 35 minute workout with a mixture of power walking and running. I am going to commit to doing this regime until Saturday and then reassess if my weight has changed at all and what I need to do for the weeks/months to come. I have been putting it off; but if by Saturday I haven't seen even the slightest decrease in my weight - I am making an appointment my consultant for next Monday. See? Now all of you will also hold me accountable. Wish me luck!
